Default Vent HBs or vent the rims or both?

I have my axial rims vented and I just got a set of HB ROVERS white compound with JC rims that are going on a set of Bully axels. I have vented rims before and I have heard of venting the tires also so I would like to know which is best or can you vent both? If you vent the tires how do you keep them from tearing?

I use a leather punch to make the hole. I have never had one tear.

I vented my wheels last weekend rather than the tire. Most people said that their is a chance of tearing a tire. I didn't want to take the risk.

Vent both, let the foam do all the work.

4 holes in each tire and a couple in the wheels is what I do.

Probably have 16 or 20 tires with holes in them and not one tear.

I vent my wheels with 3 - 2.5mm holes...

then i run a 3mm tap in them ....
that way i can plug them with a 3mm setscrew if needed.....

I have vented holes in wheels and some sets of tires (never tried both)......i have not yet ripped a tire, i vent the tire by hot 3/16 rod steel, 2 holes opp. sides.
I think it depends on where you run
from here on out, i will vent only the wheel.......i run in Nevada, Brian Parker Country (R.E.C.O.N.) and every other course seems like it's water. every time i take my wheels apart, the ones with vented holes in the tires.........foams are wet and frozen stiff......i might as well be running memory foams in the winter
the ones with vented holes in the wheels, foams are rarely wet, if it all.
the water, most times, isn't that deep..........unless you are part of the Brian Parker swim team

I guess Im the rare one that tried vents in the tires and tore 3 of them, I only vent my wheels now and tap them for 3mm screws. 3 holes per wheel.
