Default cut tires to fit smaller rims?

i have some three peice rims i like but cant find tires to fit there some odd size 2 7/8. can you cut a strip out of the tire to make it smaller without egg shaping the tire?

I'm sure that could be done,anythings possible,it'll make the tires you cut smaller.

I wanted 8 1/2" LST's. I cut the sidewalls out of my Kongs and bought 6 LST tires. Cut the tread sections off the LST's and mated them with the Kong sidewalls. You have to pay attention to your cuts and take your time with it to keep the tires round.

You could get some kind of tire that fits those rims and do the same thing as I did with my Kong/LST tires.

These tires I run now work great but I'm in the middle of building another custom tire that,hopefully,will smoke everything on the market
