Default the SUPER EASY way to mount tires on beadlocks!

I keep seeing threads about people having a hard time getting their tires mounted properly on beadlocks, and all kinds of goofy little gadgets and whatnot to help the process. Its not that complicated!

Really! Its not!

No headaches, no lost screws, no pinched beads.

You need three things. A tire. A wheel. A hex driver or allen wrench.

Take the wheel, put the beadlock rings on both sides and tighten all the screws down about halfway.

You want a gap between the ring and the wheel like this...

Now, put the wheel in the tire. All the way...now push the wheel to one side and slip the bead under the beadlock ring so it looks like this...don't worry about getting it seated, just get it under the ring. And make sure the tread is going the direction you want it to.

Now, push the wheel back inside the tire. You're almost done! Notice how one small section is already in place. Either loosen the screws up a tad bit more or gently work the bead. You'll find that it almost falls into place.

For more stubborn spots, use the tip of your driver or wrench and pop it into place. Since the bead is sitting on the inner edge of the groove, it doesn't take much force to get it where it needs to be. Just a gentle prod will do it.

Now that your bead is in place and the ring is holding it there, take a couple fingers and gently push down. You should feel the bead seat all the way in. If it doesn't, or seems higher on one side than the other, take another look to make sure everything is where it should be.

Next tighten 2 or 3 screws down against the ring. Don't crank them down yet, just tight enough to hold the ring down so that the tire won't pop out. If any area of the bead isn't in place properly, you'll see it. Simply back the screws out a bit and correct the problem.

From here you'll want to bring the remaining screws down to ring level, then tighten them all down fully in a criss-cross pattern.

Repeat the process for the other side.

See, easy huh?

Not to hijack your thread but i ended up searching youtube when mine were being a pain (i only just started crawling so didnt know the way) and

I used a bit of dishwashing liquid in some water.

Put it in a cup and when you have the tire on the wheel (at the step in the fourth photo), just dip a finger and thumb in and wipe around the bead.

Then proceed as normal. slips straight in and when it dries, it actually grips.....

This made it very easy for me after getting very frustated when i'd spent half an hour working and still had no tires mounted on the wheels

Very nice. I never would have thought to do that. But I don't think very much. Only when paid.

Yep been doing it the same way for awhile now. Just leave the ring on the rim

and loosen everything. I can change all four tires in under 20min.

Thought you said super easy? Now, this is eazzzy New Use for a Mason Jar Lid!! Takes less than 5 minutes to do one tire both beads. I used a mac and cheese cup cut out to a ring but same idea and principle.

hmmm...I just use a pill bottle to rest the wheel on so i can hold the whole tire down to the level to then just push beads in the groove all the way around.

But that would be a great technique to use when at a comp so you dont lose any screws.

Great post! I just fumbled with my beads for two hours. Proline Wheels have too many damn screws.

Can't argue with that, but whats with the crazy tread design on those tires? I would think they'd be awfully bouncy with that tab sticking out like that...
