| wheel weights
Hey Guys, So I want to get my wheels all set up last night on my LCC. I wanted to go cheap up front and then get some nice metal wheels at a later date, so I used the stock rims from my LCC and I was going to add weight to them. I had all my materials all together (rover white dots, Nova 2 stage, and cheepo rims) The only thing I was missing was a good wheel weight. So last night on my way home from work I stopped by my local NAPA to get some sticky weights. To my supprise the cheep way (sticky weights) is not cheap!!! They made me buy a box of weights, 48 sticks or something like that for $50.00!!! Needless to say I was shocked, now I am done venting... They are nice weights though, really well finished, too bad you cant see them! They are BLING grade! I guess the point to this rant is just buy some Pro Line Titus and get the weights with the wheels! I thought going to the cheap route would save me money. But on the flip side I have wheel weights for life. Thanks, Ryan PS anyone want to buy some wheel weights?? JK |

Right, sorry, no one forced me to buy weights. I was in a tough spot because I wanted to have those wheels set for today. I was just alittle shocked at the cost associated with the purchase. And I dont know why I thought I could buy them by the stick. Ryan |

I get mine from the tire shop right down the street from where I work. They charge me a buck for a 12oz stick. They're broken down in 1/4oz increments and self adhesive. Can't beat it. The tire shop might buy them from NAPA, hmmmmm |

| No, I went that route. Bought the Titus and the tuner weights, two weeks later the hexes were blew out in the front wheels and I was fed up with the inside bead blowing out every five minutes. The Titus were the worst money I've ever wasted on my crawler (although MIP CVD axleshafts are close), went to VP DH's and haven't looked back. I should have just spent the money on decent wheels to begin with.

I know the damage has already been done (seriously, why would you pay 50 bucks for wheel weights?) but most tire shops will GIVE you used wheel weights. Wrap em around your wheel, a couple wraps of electrical tape to keep everything in, foams, tires, crawl.

My brain usually works well too! I think I was too set in my ways, I had to get the job done that night and it was too late to get them anywhere else. Stupid me. Ryan |
