Don't know about the 2.2 but the 1.9 work really well cutting out the smaller lugs.

I think they look better uncut but, I've been told they work a lot better cut.

I held out on mine, didn't want to spoil my pretty new tires. After 1 run with them, I reached for the side cutters. HUGE difference! I will never run them uncut again. (And they look even better!) There just is not enough spacing between the lugs in stock configuration to grab onto rock ledges, etc.

Yeah i really hate to lose the look but my truck isnt a true scaler so i wont lose sleep just kinda sucks but its the lesser of two evils. I was thinking about cutting only half of the small lug and staggering them to open the lug space but not lose all the scale look any thoughts?

i dont think you would loose the scale look. there are people that cut boggers like that. you see em run em all the time on 1:1 ttc rigs. i like the look of them like that. take a dremel to them and clean em up good, they will look awesome. i would do it in a heartbeat.

CUT- CUT- CUT- CUT- CUT- CUT-

SNIP N RIP

LESS IS MORE

Want Traction? TAKE ACTION!!

I'd also say "looks are for posers", but I happen to agree that they look better with the lugs cut out.

I just cut mine as they are the older, less grippy ones anyways.

Get some side cutters and cut them right where the groove is on the little lug...that leaves enough raised up to give a good look, but too low to get in the way.

I'll bet if you siped the remaining lugs from front to back, that would help also...but it would probably take away too much of the scale look.

Quick pic:

I cut every other small lug out alternating sides a while back on my hard compound slingers. I ended up cutting the rest out shortly after, the performance gain just didn't seem to be there IMO. But here's a pic so you might get an idea of what yours might look like.
