Lots of talk on this thread. I use it to clean my 5th scale Baja most of the time.

It works great, If we are going to be comping somewhere that has slick rocks, I just spray my tires down (on the rig) the night before and let them dry overnight - they are usually dry by morning. I have a couple of stands I put in baking pans, stick the rigs on the stands, rotate the tires by hand, and spray the stuff straight out of the bottle, no dilluting.

Dont know that i'd say it softens, but definitly makes them stickier. Some say wd40 will soften though. Spray em and does them in a zip lock for a few days. I haven't tried it though.

Clean tires is all that you need. Stickier tires just pick up the dirt and dust and debris on the rocks anyways. Use dish soap or even diluted Simple Green, or whatever. Clean is what works best.

If you're trying to physically soften a tire, you've got the wrong tire.

I agree with EeePee here 100%. Keeping your tires clean works best. The only thing I use Simple Green for is cleaning the tires. But if you are deadset on softening your tires you could do it from the inside. Take your foams out put desired amount of chemical inside the tire. And roll it in a hot box for a couple hours. Track tac makes some great products that I have used for years with great sucess in racing. Again I would only try doing it from the inside of the tire.

Here is what I would reccomend for softening the tire.

http://www.tracktac.com/tt/product.a...%2DRED%2DQUART

or

This is probably alot more trouble than most people would be willing worry with.

I clean my tires w/ Simple Green once in a while, but I make sure to rinse them off thoroughly afterwards. Clean, dry tires just hook up better.

There is such a thing as TOO sticky. If your tires pick up every little piece of debris they roll over it gets real annoying...
