| snow tires
I have done several searches and have found very little info on tires that work well in snow/ice. What are you guys useing? On a second note has anyone tried studding tires? If so what did you use and how well did it work? |

| I know IMEX Red Rocks work well in the snow. I would also think that Pitbull's would work in the snow due to them being so wide, I know they work good in the sand.

Driving on the snow/ice is too dangerous.

| I have a set of Flat Irons with chains, what I am looking for is a good set of 2.2's that will get me up on top of the snow. Something a little wider so I don't sink as much and that will give good traction and self clean.

UTRCRC had a scale comp yesterday and there was a lot of snow. The two tires that seemed to do well were RC4WD 1.9 Boggers with the small lugs cut out and the Proline 2.2 TSL's.

go with the pitbulls on a 1" rim. nice and wide, but lots of different contact patchs. cant wait for snow here in ct to try them.

I have a set of 2.2 Flat Irons that I hacked up that flat out work in the snow. They clean amazingly easily and have awesome bite! Ice is tuff with any tires, but snow is similar to mud, just need to clean the tread out to get some grip. Matt |

i used pitbulls here and we had around 3-4inchs on the ground and they cleaned extremely well and the only times i got stuck was because i didnt have enough wheel speed to get up the drifts. otherwise they worked flawlessly

| LMFAO. Go to your local hardware store, get a bunch of chain, like smaller diameter chain, scale size. and make your own! it shouldn't be too hard. Actually, not that you mentioned this, I'ma go make some of my own too. thanks! |

Somebody on one of the other threads was saying they use flat thumbtacks pushed through from the inside of the tire. That was for on ice I think it would help on hard packed snow and wouldn't hurt in other snow. Hope this helps.

| I did the thumb tacks back in the day and did oval racing on my pool when it froze over haha. Even better is when someone doesnt pay attention and grabs the truck by its tires. |
