| i was bored, so i tried something new
so as the title reads i was very bored so i dug out these pro-line speed hawgs for my spare parts box, and i stared at them for a while. then i got a wheel and realized it wouldn't fit so i would make it fit. thus my first time cutting up a set of tires |

| I think cause he was bored and wanted to try something new as the title suggests I would rather try doing my first cns on a useless to me set of tires from my parts box then something new and usefull. Maybe he is bringing his crawler to the local track to see what the 1/4 mile times are. At my local drag strip they have run anything on Wed and Fri nights. I have seen all kinds of creations run there and some offroad rigs blow the doors of some ricers. That is a great thing to see. Big ole redneck embarrassing a think he is the sh!t ricer and then threatening to drive over said ricers vehicle with the Redneck mobile when the ricer bitches after the race. No offense to the pants below the ass, hat sideways, ricer crowd. not all of them are like that and it doesn't mean you are a bad in anyway. I just fit into the more Redneck crowd as this is my full size vehicle: After $20 paint job: And I enjoy seeing the think they have the coolest fastest vehicle with the largest coffee can exhaust tip vehicle get spanked by a Big Ugly truck or Jeep. What does this have to do with the original post in this thread, not too much. Other then 2500's post about why put street tires on a crawler made me think of seeing some trucks and jeeps pull some very fast quarter mile times by taking off their off road tires and running some all terrains, etc at the drag strip. |

Bones, They make some CA (glue) that is black and rubberized that makes the cut and reglue look less, cut and reglued. If you are going to do more or try another set you may want to pick some up. Makes the final job much cleaner looking as the normal Ca is always visible when it dries. |

yeah i didnt have anything but super glue which also hardens the rubber but i had no use for the tires, and i had seen other people do it with off road tires to give better look so i thought before cutting up some high dollar tread i would cut up these. also my current rig is being torn down and rebulit into a scaler but i havent had any time to run over to ace so i can get some hardware. P.S. where do you get this rubber like ca glue Edit right after i made this post i ran into a thread that said what it was ic-2000 rubberized bonding glue Last edited by boneskid1; 08-15-2011 at 09:26 AM. |

Why'd you rattle-can your Jeep? Looks like it was pretty nice before you painted it.

to be honest the rattle can job looks stellar kind of an army/ ute paint job and you cant beat it for 20 dollars. |

It was badly scratched and beat from trees, rocks, etc. The winter pic does not show it. It looked horrible when clean, lol. And it was much easier to do a flat paint job then trying to keep a Jeep that gets used off road black and shiny. Touch up is now very simple although the Jeep rarely gets driven. I have a work vehicle and only drive the Jeep once or twice a month. | |
