Default from 1.9 , to 2.2 ROCK BEAST's

I went to the Dagobah system last night to start my training on the art of cut n shut with Tire Master Yoda,(aka TURBOFEST)he began my training with the enlarging of the 1.9 ROCK BEAST to 2.2.....the 1.9 measures at 4.4 ,,,the 2.2 version comes in at 5.0 exact,,,in my opinion they are the perfect size for what im building next...here ya go..

Do you think you could shoot a couple more pictures of how you got the tread lined up when you glued the new patch in? Thanks!

Awesome! Thank you Dez.... So for a guy looking to do his very first cut-n-shut on these tires, how hard do you think these were compared to the some of the other cut-n-shut's you've done?

EDIT: and how many of the regular 1.9's did it take to make 4 of these 5" 2.2's?

They certainly arent the easiest cut'n'shut. The carcass is very soft and you have to zig zag the tread area to make it work right.

5 tires will get the job done.

I know that is more of a pain, but I think that makes for a stronger joint than just a simple straight across cut...

Nice work Dez and TF!

I decided to have my LHS, The Crawl Space, do these cut & shuts for me. So the pics of how you butted the tread up would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what foams did you guys use in them?

And do you think 1.25" wide wheel is good? or it looks like they could benefit from a little wider wheel?

I think the rim you decide to use them on will determine how the joints will but up,,after watching TURBO work his magic im pretty sure the wheel will influence that....foams,,i have stock sedona foams up frt,,and stock rock grabber foams in the rr...the 1.25 wheel for me is perfect

got them all mounted up,,with foams and rims,,and the potential rig they will be on,i still have tons of work to get the rig where I want it,,but this will most likely be there final resting place, with my clone next to it for comparison

Then count me in on the compliments! I'd LOVE for Pit Bull to come out with a realistic looking 2.2 comparable to their 1.9's.
