Default OTTSIX SCHISM questions answered

1. When will the site be up? In a few weeks, perhaps less.

2. What sort of rig were they designed for? This tire was designed for both crawler and rigs like the Wraith.

3. How does it work for both? The tire was designed with micro lugs between the main lugs. The micro lugs where specifically placed there to add stability (which they do), at speed, on Wraith's and like minded rigs. For crawling, with this medium soft compound, I suggest that you snip out some or most of the micro lugs to give more room to catch edges.
I run mine snipped in front and stock in the rear (moa):

4. Do you have a softer compound in the works? YES! I'm working with the engineers at the factory on a very soft synthetic rubber compound (it's expensive, so be forewarned)...this compound will be proprietary to Ottsix. If all goes well, we'll take delivery by mid summer.

5. Are the tires directional? Yes, well, sort of. I designed a few of the main lugs to have a slight angle to them. The idea was to allow the rig to DIG more efficiently. If you turn the tire around, you'll get full traction.

6 Can I buy them now? Yes...PM me.

7. Do you have any more tires in the works? Yes, we're working on a strictly crawling tire. I'll let you know when it's nearing completion
I'll also be running a "win it before you can buy it" promotion when the CAD work is done, so watch for that.

8. What are the specs? Mounted on a 1" wheel: 2.4" x 5.6"

I'd like to say thank you all very much for your overwhelming show of support for my new venture!

Matt Ottman

Those are nasty looking, in a good way. Nice job!

What would you compare the current compound to?

Hey, that's a good question! They're made from a natural rubber based compound which gives them a very different sort of feel...I'd say that there closest to some of the more firm crawler based compounds out there.

I am guessing that these will not be a scale legal tire. I really like the looks of them for a comp crawler. I would like to get my hands on a set.

Does that mean we can get some burnout smoke off of them?
