| Help with Wraith setup
Hello, I have a RTR Wraith, i have yanked out the 20t motor and threw in the 27t axial motor. dropped the pinion down to an 18 and upped the spur to the 87 tooth. I am now trying to decide between the Rovers,Sedona,Chisels, and Flat Irons for Tires. My driving style is Trail driving through parks and Crawling on washed out creek beds and steep jagged Limestone and Rip Rap, and misc tree roots and off camber stuff. I don't care for looks, I have searched the forums for days now, and this is how i have narrowed down my choices. I am tired of my factory tires just leaving me spinning. i want something that will grab and go. My Honcho that i have has the sticky ripsaws and it will leave my Wraith behind just because it can grip. Thanks for any input. |

Get another set of 2.2 R35 Ripsaws since you love them on your Honcho....

Your list broken down: Rovers and Donas will crawl the best, but the carcass is too soft for trail runs with any speed. But your current gearing is not conducive to speed. Ripsaws are VERY close to Rovers and Donas crawling performance. + Excellent trail running tire. + SWEET scale looks. Chisels and Flat Irons - Noticable performance drop from the other three. - Only buy Chisels if you're in love with the look and nothing else matters to you. - Flat Iron are good for fast trail runs, because of the short/sqatty profile, They corner nicely, and dont roll much, but are very weak crawling. Per your list, I vote R35 RIPSAWS! |

Thank you for the comparisons. I will look into going with the R35 compound. That is what i was afraid of with the comp tires. is that they were so soft that making it from point a to b on a trail would be tough on the rubber and cause premature wear and poor rideablility. not enough people around here with crawlers. all Short course guys. thank goodness for forums. |
