Default tire sizes explained?

can anyone provide a link to a website or a post where i can get a somewhat comprehensive explanation with visual examples of RC Wheel and Tires sizes for cars and trucks and what the numbers mean? this is a somewhat confusing topic for me ...thanx!

thank you very much dave - the LINK is helpful to a newbie like myself - your comment however seems like an attempt to oversimplify the matter - you seem experienced in this hobby, yet - you TOO seem to be seeking some tire size information when you wrote: "What size are 1:5 scale wheels/tires?"

Nice! A newbie who does his homework ;) My main question was what exactly you were looking for... You wanted to know what the measurements meant.. "Well, an inch is an inch.." Wanting to know what size a tire is is acceptable ;) Anyway, make good use of that thread, Rick spent a while making it.
