Default need help...need dyeing procedure....

Ok I have only done this once before and i was for some bruiser parts along time ago...

Can anyone let me know the procedire for dyeing rims... I am dying the white pede rims... Can anyone help me out... I know ypu get a big pot of water and cook them for awhile , but for how long and on what temp... at least this is how I did my old ones... is there another way or what???

This is how I do it.

Bring a big pot of water to a boil.Once it boils turn the burner down to medium to slow down the boil to just very hot scalding water.

Add the dye package when the boiling calms down or it will get everywere.

Stir in the dye and add your rims. The longer they sit in the hot water the darker they will be. It usually takes about 30 min to get the color nice and rich.

When they reach the desired color rinse them in cold water.

I always wash mine with soap and water at this time to get all the residue off... your dish cloth or sponge will turn the color of the rims so use an old one to wash the parts with.

wow didnt know you could dye a rim but i guess it makes sence post some pics up of them finished 86ss1

Is is call Rit Dye. I use the powdered stuff in the little box. You can get it at the grocery store on the laundry soap section, usually. It is actualy fabric dye and it comes in many colors.

I used the RIT liquid dye..... worked great....
