Default Rc4wd Narrow Beadlocks Problem ?

so tell me what i am doing wrong even before running these wheels i can easily roll the side of the tire with my hand and the bead pops right of the beadlock. i did narrow the foams after assembling them once because i could see where the tire was bulging out and would push the bead out. i tried several times of bolting and unbolting the ring and 5 feet of driving on my carpet up my cabinet and 1 bead will generally pop out. am i retarded or did i just not follow the instructions properly, lol

what tires are you using? are you making sure the bead of the tire is fully seated all the way down in the rim? I use a lil flat head and push the bead all the way so that its almost flush then install the ring...

i forgot to mention they are 2.2 moabs. whenever i try to push the bead down into the groove it doesnt like to stay should i just narrow the foam some more or start the screws and push a section in like you are saying and tighten that screw

I don't have beadlocks, but you should tighten them little by little in a criss-cross pattern. (If your not already)

Ya I've had that issue before but only once so far. I know 1:1 beadlocks sometimes scuff up the inner ring to grip tire better. I'm wondering if it might help.

Are you sure you're tightening the screws down all the way? I'm have a hard time imagining rubber coming out while being sandwiched between two pieces of aluminum clamped down by screws...maybe I'm missing something....got pics?

I have 3 sets of aluminum beadlock wheels and haven't experienced that before..

With the maximizers I got, I had that problem. Screws weren't tight enough.

I have had this happen once. It was the tire that was the problem not the wheel.

Lay the tire on its side and look straight down at it. Is the bead area PERFECTLY round?

I've had a seen couple pairs of 2.2 Moabs, that we molded incorrectly. the bead was not round and would not stay in the beadlock.

Just make sure the bead area on the tire is not egg shaped.

Lucky you. That is definately not the case with the ones I just got.
the ring on yours looks smaller.
Also does the lip of the ring touch the wheel whith out the tire mounted or does it stop short of touching? On your wheel?

I think you guys are wrong. I have RC4WD beadlocks on mine its just his are for the super series not 2.2's. Mine are exactly the same just silver ring. Look up Benders pics in the Comp section under Colorado event #1. There are 2 threads like that but I run the black with green fire slammed rockbull II. You can see the beadlocks are the same.

To answer the question from my take, I lessened the amount of foam inside each 2.2. Not only cause I should, but the RC4WD 2.2's are narrowed so I had to take off nearly 1/2" of foam so the bead would stay in firm and not "push out" the bead cause just too much foam. Now they have stayed so far and I think I might put a dab of CA on the tire and beadlock inbetween the screws for xtra hold for the comp. We will see. You really have to make sure the bead stays in with the 2.2 series. The rings are almost too large in dia. so they want to push that "beveled" area of the tire out which in turn pushes the bead out. I get all my screws even to where I can just push the tire in towards the bead to kind of "scrunch it in". Then I use a long zip tie and circle the tire. Tighten and it pushes the bead in evenly. Now turn all your screws in 2 turns each all the way around and do that till your all set tight.
Now go crawl!!!!

i had to end up gluing the bead inside the rim let it dry then bolt down the beadlock. just narrowing the foam first didnt work it would still pull out. as far as the ring touching the rim when tightend no the ring does not touch on any of my 8 wheels with the standard or wide ring.

Ok I'm going to try grinding down the wheel where the ring bolts on so that the lip on the ring pinches tighter to the wheel, It will probably void any warranty since I've modiffied the original product. but if it holds the tire on better. It don't matter.
