Ok...where I crawl, there is all different terrains. We have rocks, hard packed and loose dirt, sand, mud, branches, and just about anything else you can imagine. My rig is a G6 and I'm running 1.9 Axial beadlock wheels with Trepadors and these tires just aren't cutting it. For my needs what tire would be best? Are your treps getting fuzzy and worn yet? I really liked mine when they got to that point. Needed a little tire height and tried growlers and just didnt care for them in my area. Went to swamper xl's and never looked back. |

You likely need a more open tread the Trepadors are rather smooth in the center of the tread. I'm thinking your best option of the tires you've provided would likely be the Proline Super Swamper XL's. The center is tight kinda like the Trepadors but the side tread is more open with deeper tread and sharper lugs.

Tsl-sx XL would likely shine in the terrain you describe. That's been my experience with them.

Rock Beast I really liked the swamper xls but once it gets wet nothing beats the pitbulls, and I have tested them all.

In a wet "woodsy" (lol) environment pit bulls flat out suck in my experience. Especially in the dirt such as hill climbs and terrain of that nature. the Tsl-sx embarrasses them once you get off pure rocks.

The Ripsaw R35 tires or the Vaterra Super Swampers are a perfect fit for the SCX10 and they work great. The Ripsaws are 4.3"x1.5" and the Vaterra tires are 4.5"x1.5" Either tire will need some sidewall support via a closed cell foam. |

With the terrain you described I would go with the PL Swamper XL's ftw! The Pitbulls are a good 2nd choice but I find they don't clean out as well in the trails. Straight up rock crawling the Pitbulls seems to edge the Swampers just a little bit. When they come out I'd expect the new 1.9 Voodoo's to kick some serious a$$!

Thanks guys. I'm really leaning towards the TSL XL's. What sucks is...awhile back i was set on Rock beasts and nobody had them in stock... My buddy had a set and was ordering CI foams for them and I got him to go ahead and order me a set. So now I'll have to order some for the TSL's and I'll have these just sitting here. |

I have both. I haven't run the rbII yet but will say they have a tall order to keep up with the swampers. A great all around tire. The outer spacing works great to shovel out mud and the centers grab real nice on the rock

I used 4.5" foams in my xl 1.9's. Not a fan of over stuffed tires.

I've run my XL Swampys on everything. Trail, wet, dry, wet rock, dry rock, sand, etc......always impress me. I ran them back to back on my G6 against the PB Rock Beasts. I wasn't impressed with the Pits. They did everything my Swampys would do.....except for clean out. This was a mainly rock situation, with a bit of wet and sand at the bottom. The Swampy is my go to, all around tire.

| Re: Tire opinions I only have a few hours on my Ripsaws, but in loose dirt I have not been impressed. On my "course" at the house (primarily bowling ball sized chunks of concrete, granite, limestone) they do quite well, but in loose dirt hillclimbs they did not. I have some TSLs on order and sure hope that they perform better in the dirt.
