I have found that the Imex tires need a lot of wheel speed and at that point you are not crawling anymore.

I realy like my 2.2 red rocks, It took some custom foams but in the end I am very happy with them.

For a 2.2 clod they are, imo. You need weight to make them work, and a firm set of foams. My 2.2 clod is around 8.5lbs, my old tlt was 5, I can tell the rr's would have sucked on it. But if I build another 2.2 tlt it will have mashers on it. They even do good on slick rock with the weight. Here's my 2.2 running the red rocks. That was before the new foams, they work even better now. http://media.putfile.com/ImperialFinished

I had high hopes for my swamp dawgs with the new rubber but at least around here moabs and mashers are way better. The imex has soft rubber but its not sticky like the proline rubber.

Swamp Dogs are good for snow and mud,not rocks. So if you're looking into rocks go with mashers

Great vid, Kamikaze. You have a very capable rig there. I was very impressed with the vertical climbing ability, that thing will almost climb a wall! The last shot was killer! Nice truck...

I really like my Swamp Doggs but my Masher's and Moab's are better in the rocks. The Swamp Doggs are better in mud and snow though.

I have NEVER been impressed with the moab tire, it needs modification to do good on anything around here. Mashers impressed me alot, and the new compound that Imex has been using has improved their swampdawgs from the older rock hard ones. (at least those are my observations)

I have been running Moabs with cut tread and modified Red Rocks back and forth. dry conditions on our local sandstone, the RR's can do 99% of what the Moabs can, although a bit less confidently. On wet rock, the RR's do better. Both rubber compounds seem to work well in my area. i will buy both of them again.

I have a set of 2.2 Moabs and a set of Imex Swamp Dawg's....I like them both. The Moab's are "stickier" and will crawl up smooth rock faces better, but the Swamp Dawg's are no slouch, either. For realism compared to a full-size truck, the Swamp Dawg's beat the Moabs hands-down. The tread on the Swamp Dawg's is just like the tread on Super Swamper Bogger's, a very popular tire for full-size (1:1) rock-crawling rigs. If you want your rc crawler model to look like a "real" truck, go with Swamp Dawg's.
