| In doubt: Hotbodies Rover, Voodoo U4 or Pit Bull Growler
So guys, your knowledge and wisdom is needed here.... For my COD (Crawl of Duty) project i am in doubt on the tires (2.2). I never used one of the below mentioned before. I already have some CI Double Deuce medium foams for the tires. The terrain where i will do most of my driving: mud and wet rocks. Mostly slow crawling and trailing. I've decided on tires in the 5,5 diameter range. On my Losi NC i run the Hotbodies Sedonas and i like those. But specific on that rig. I am in doubt about the Hotbodies Rover, Voodoo U4 or Pit Bull Growler. I guess the Growlers are a more basher tire? What are your opinions? Last edited by MaFoDes; 01-16-2016 at 02:35 PM. |

I have rovers on my modded RS10 and it performs great on rocks and dry trails but not good at all in even a little mud. I also run 1.5 Pitbull Growlers on my sawback and it does great on my trail runs when it gets muddy. They do get clogged up but somehow they keep going.

I vote for pit bull growlers. The lug spacing lends itself to great traction on sand, dirt, and rock. They do clog up in mud, but a little blurp of wheel speed cleans them out!

Thanks for your input guys. Other opinions are still appreciated.... Strange that after all those years in Rc'ing for every build i can be in doubt on the tire choice. For my "Rubi Red" build i decided on Rc4Wd Dick Cepec mudcountrys. I hated them at first, but they got better with every feet driven. I have been thinking about the Rovers. I like the treadpatern. But they are too wide for this build. I know there are guys here who narrow them down. But i don't have too much faith in my own glueing skills. So they are a no-go then. |

I'd vote for the Voodoo. I have them, but haven't had a chance to use them. I can tell you the tread is excellent and can be cut to better suit your application if desired. PitBull Growlers are awesome tires, but they are not good in wet conditions or mud. I have no experience with the Rovers. |

So i've decided on the Ottsix Voodoo's U4. Only doubt is the compound. Silver or blue? Seems to be a mystery which one to use |
