Default Wheel and Tire Size.

So I bought Pro-Line 1.9 Super Swampers with Axial 8 hole beadlocks. The tires were a nightmare to get on. After doing some research is seems as though the wheels are 1" wide and the tires say 1.75". Did I make a rookie mistake and actually buy a mismatched set?

Proline tires have a funky shaped bead that works fine in Proline's wheels but they can be a pain to mount in some other wheels.

The gigantic oversized foams that they come with make them hard to mount as well.

I ran the Proline Super Swamper TSX XL on Axial wheels for a while. I used Crawler Innovations foams and they were pretty simple to install. They are narrower on the inside so they don't push against the bead as much when you're trying to mount them.

The key thing here is patience. I got frustrated, but kept trimming away since I really wanted to use the Axial 9-hole beadlocks. Eventually I wound up destroying the entire bead. The fix? Had to buy another set of XLs. The second time around I threw in the towel and purchased Proline beadlock wheels. I guess the silver lining is that I now have a single XL that I can mount up as a spare.
