| Proline Bfgoodrich all terrain or Krawler tyres??
Hey, I'm currently upgrading my Traxxas trx4 Land Rover and next on the list is tyres. I'm wanting to keep it scale and we used to run BFgoodrich all terrains on our full size defender110 so would like to go with Proline bfg tyres. I've seen a good review on the Krawler and they look good for crawling and trail. Has any one had any experience with the all terrain ko2 tyres? How do they perform climbing and on the trails? Out of the two tyres I'm unsure which to go for? Opinions would be great if you've ran either of them. Cheers Rob

The BF from Proline are a bit small. Around 110mm. I mounted the Axial BF Tires from the SCX2 an they are ok. Bit too big for my taste but works. TRX4 Land Rover Defender 110 TRX4 Land Rover Defender 110 TRX4 Land Rover Defender 110 Last edited by GrimmTheTourist; 06-30-2017 at 04:55 AM. |

They look really good on the truck, how are they in wet conditions, being in the uk it's wet 99% of the time! Haha

They dont shine on wet and loose underground like sand, soil, clay and similar terrain. The tire tread packs pretty fast. Wet rocks and compact terrain are not a problem. They work actually pretty good. But overall it is a tire for dry condition. Duratrax Deep Woods work very well on loose and wet underground, but they are huge. |

To be honest, my friend and I try to go out in dry conditions so they'll probably be ok, are the axial bfg tyres much bigger than stock. I might go for them!

They are actually a little smaller then the stock tires. Around 116-118mm / 42mm on the SR02 wheels. There are much better tires out there - but I like the look of them and they perform ok. Last edited by GrimmTheTourist; 06-30-2017 at 06:15 AM. |

Got you, the wheels I'm after are the rc4wd "wagon" wheels, the White 8 spoke ones. I'm going to go shopping for tyres now!

If you are going for the RC4WD wheels and these tires, you should get the blue proline beadlock rings from RC4WD too. At least I could not mount them on my RC4WD wheels without them. Maybe cutting the foam would also solve the issue. Someone in this forum probably could help out some more. Or have a look at the SCX2 section. Maybe someone mounted the tires on RC4WD wheels without issues. |

I have used the Pro-Line BFG KO2s in the 2.2 and 1.9 size. I have ran the tire on my 1:1 vehicles for decades. I was running the 2.2 I on a Bomber. The looks are fantastic. The performance was not that great. For example, in my backyard course I have a climb that involves a lot of rock "shleves" or steps. One afternoon I was hitting the course, I found that the Bomber equipped with the KO2s would struggle. It was fun, I would have to carefully pick my line. Then I thought I would change tires and try the same line. I installed the tires off my sons Bomber on to my car. He has the Axial BFG Bomber kit tires. It wasn't even fun, the line was no longer a challenge, the car would just climb. Bottom line, I love the looks of the tire. But there are better performing tires out there. Since, I have taken the 2.2 KO2s off my Bomber. We have kept the 1.9 KO2s on the SCX10, it is a trail vehicle not a competition rig. Edit: I forgot to add, I use the Axial KO2s on my SCX10.2. More of a trail rig than a comp rig. |

Ok, cool, thanks. I'll go have a bit look around a bit Thanks for the reply Chip, my trx4 will be for trails mainly too so I'm guessing they'll be fine. I have a warn winch on my trx4 so that might get used more too, fun stuff! Ive also just found Axial maxxis trapdoor in 1.9, they look pretty cool. Any opinions on them? Personally I'd rather go for the kx than the ko2. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Last edited by THX_138; 01-14-2018 at 10:54 PM. | |

Yes I sure am. I'm looking at all sorts! There's a guy on YouTube running the krawlers, he likes them and says they're a good trail tyre too, might be the way to go.

I just picked up a set of the proline ko2s for my trx4 and I think they are a perfect fit for the trx4. A little smaller than stock but they fill the wheel wells just fine and I run mine as low as I can and it just looks right. Friend of mine spoke highly of these tires and I look forward to running them.

I just put the BFG All-terrain KO2's on mine on 2.2 wheels but haven't taken it out yet. In my backyard setup they seem to grip the rocks pretty well. Will have to see how they do on a trail. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

That looks cool! Ive nit ordered my wheels yet but might next week, if you get a chance please let me know how you like them, I'm kind of swayed towards the krawlers at the minute.

Nice! How do they compare height wise to stock tyres? Ive had a total change if plan regarding bfg tyres, I've actually gone with a 2nd hand but still brand new set of rc4wd baja claws, I believe they're a good tyre and a good size match to proline hyrax. They were on eBay and i got a good saving on both these tyres brand new and proline krawlers too. So I'll see if I like them. Anyone had experience with them?
