Default How to cut 2.2s to fit 2.2/3.0 wheels?

Having never cut tires, how do you U4 guys fit 2.2s on SCT wheels? Does anyone know of a how-to?

ORRRRRRRRR, does anyone make a tire that is 2.2 O.D. for 2.2/3.0? Thanks!!!

They make short course tires. I need 2.2 tires that fit short course wheels. Most SCT tires are under 5.0" and I need bigger.

get a 3 inch pipe. sharpen the edge. then put it in a press, but make sure you stretch one bead over the pipe. center it before you apply pressure. it should cut. try a junk tire set first.

you could also make a centering die with a 2.2 wheel and some pvc to make up the dia spacing.

you wont have a bead for the 3.0 part but you can still glue it. or you can cut sections of the old bead and re-attach to the new circumference.

So use glue on wheels and cut the sidewall to fit. I bet you could cut right outside the 2.2 bead and the sidewall would stretch perfectly onto a 3" bead.
