| SSD compatIble Beadlock Rings?
SSD doesn't appear to sell black beadlock rings for their wheels separately. Is this true? Does anyone know if there is someone who makes rings that are compatible? Thanks |

Even worse....they're all delrin. I had gray contenders in my cart for my bomber and then tried to find them again and couldn't. Turns out they only have them in 1.9 - no 2.2's I love SSD wheels, but they're way limited in selection and variety. Dayum...I hate that chanquish crap. LOL But looking better all the time. |

What I like about Delrin rings is that they don't change color when getting the inevitable rock rash... |

They look like plastic though. [shrug]

I didn’t realize the rings were Delrin. Reminds me of a set of Proline beadlocks I have on my TH. I believe they are Delrin. They have definitely taken abuse well.

They likely work fine. You just can't strip the anodizing and make them the color you want. I'm not finding what I want out there for color. Oh well. |

I would love to see these available in 2.2: I'm looking for something for my RR10 Bomber build, and everything I like is either too expensive or sold out. I really prefer a bright-alloy beadlock ring - IMO a black ring blends in with the tire too much, making the wheel appear too small. A bright ring makes the wheel appear bigger. Just a personal observation - how they appear to ME. Vanquish has a couple of designs that could work, but pretty much everything is copied by china wheel importers for half the price. Surely the VP items are nicer, but $150 for toy wheels goes against my better judgement. If I'm going to spend that much I'd do the motoworx, the scale shop, or other custom wheel builder, Locked-up, GearHead, etc. The 'chanquish' imports have alloy beadlock rings but all are anodized, which can be stripped off and polished. So I'm leaning that way currently - it's just that their styles are really limited and none of them are really deep-dish like SSD or some of the other custom wheels. I have several sets in 1.9 and they've been just fine quality-wise. I've been pouring over wheel styles from everywhere all week and rather burned out. Going to pick something soon and order - the plastic wheels that come with the kit are, well, not my cup of tea. Any other ideas???? These are really nice but sold out - 'the scale shop' Hutchinson. I actually like their other designs better but all are too narrow except this one. Here's a thread by @Thloftus with these wheels on his Bomber - looks really terrific. $105 for a set of really nice wheels is do-able. You can't 'contact us' at The Scale Shop so I tracked them down on FB - they replied they are not going to make any more wheels - can't compete with the chinese crap. Oh well. Dayum. |

LockedUpRC has some really nice wheels, a bit pricey but if you get the "8L" versions, they have the hub machined into the wheel, so you don't have to buy separate hubs. Just buy the wheel and a set of outer rings of your choice. You can even add widener rings to make them more "deep dish"... I have the 1.9" Trail Ready wheels, here's the 2.2" version: 2.2" TrailReady HD series 8L Beadlock Wheel Pic of 2.2" TrailReady HD 8L with Agile Ring, Scale Hex Bolts, Ultra Outer Hub, and M2 Acorn Nuts: |

2.2 wideners are backordered. Great tip on the 8L though - didn't even look at those. Perfect for the D60 axles. |

'Adversary' with 'Gridlock' rings...$127 shipped. Wideners are another $35 but are backordered. Could get by without 'till they come back in stock - wheels are 25mm wide. Maybe just do plain rings. [shrug] |

The SSD Contenders are sexy. In fact All of the above wheels pictured are nice, the Hutchinson’s you pictured first especially so.

The 'Agile' standard rings are even less - a whole set of wheels $107 plus ship. That's do-able. Getting close on these... Thanks guys. |

LockedUpRC is in my area, which prompted me to ask him about picking my order up from his location - but he nicely (and probably wisely) let me know that he preferred to keep things business-like and ship products directly to his customers... I went with his limited edition "Command" rings, but these days I'm thinking about ordering another set of rings that don't hide the gorgeous wheel faces. I have wideners currently installed as well, but I haven't actually mounted them on a rig yet. |

Ordered these. Was still $150 by the time I got done. Got the axle end covers too - the bolted ones like a real D60 has. And acorn nuts, and zinc cap-screws for the rings. Ouch. Oh well, right? Sorry for 'jacking your thread Smog. |

They definitely have the right 'look'. LOL And I still don't have the widener rings. Dayum. This Bomber project has turned into a money-pit. You guys forgot to mention that. Or maybe you did and I just wasn't paying attention. |
