| M3 Hub screws with small head
Anyone know where i can get some M3 hub screws with a small head? All the cap head screws i have won't fit my 1.9 wheels. The head of a normal cap head is around 5mm wide and these on the wheels look to be 4mm wide. |

| Re: M3 Hub screws with small head My hub screws have always been M2.5, sorry - I did just get in a bag of 50 M2.5 Socket Head Cap Screws 12.9 Alloy Steel w/ Black Oxide DIN 912, 0.45 Coarse that allowed me to switch from shiny stainless to lovely matte black... (check on eBay) |

They're the Chinese version of the VP hubs, so use a m3 screw, but the head of the screw is a smaller diameter than a regular me. Tried eBay but just get the regular cap head come up. |

You are are probably looking for something like these. https://www.nbk1560.com/en-US/produc...screw/SNSS-SD/ Look at the part numbers SNSS-M3-5-SD to SNSS-M3-12-SD (6mm to 12mm long). The head diameter is 4.5mm on these and standard cap head M3 screws are 5.5mm diameter. Not sure where else you might find them but at least you know they are nothing special to that particular wheel manufacturer. You will probably have to buy them from an industrial fastener supplier rather than your local hardware store. |

I've been unable to find the right length of hub bolts before for a particular wheel and just bought long ones and cut them all down...

| Re: M3 Hub screws with small head Its not the length of the screw that's the problem, it's a smaller head. A regular head on a cap screw is 5.5mm wide, the screws on these wheels have a 4.5mm wide head.

I completely understood what you wanted... I was just mentioning a time in the past where I had also modified hardware to suit an application as CodyBoy had. Good luck on your search!

I know I'm a little late to the party, but did you ever find a place to get these screws? I need 5 of them, probably going to have to shave some down myself but if I don't have to, then im not going to haha

Typically the Chinese wheels come with hubs and screws that fit just fine...

| Re: M3 Hub screws with small head the ones I ordered did, however I stupidly thought they were not going to come out while wheeling, 5 out of one wheel came off somewhere on a trail, couldn't find any of them. So now I am looking for replacements

RC4WD screws heads are usually slightly smaller OD, or turn some down with drillpress and a file. |

| Re: M3 Hub screws with small head That’s probably what I’m gonna I’ve to do, found one place online that has something g that looks like it would work, but it’s like $25 for 5, that’s more than half what I paid for the whole set of 4 haha

Cool, doesn't take much rotations with a good flat file to reduce the head diameter, could even use a hand drill but press is much easier and more precise. And yeah that's too much $$ for couple screws lol.

ive found the bigger head still seats in the pocket on the wheels just fine but if not you could kiss the rim with a drill bit to open the hole up and never have that problem again

| Re: M3 Hub screws with small head the screws for the back side are the same on my wheels, but they aren't recessed as much, so I ended up putting those in the front and using regular m3 screws on the back side.
