| Bare aluminum wheels
I've been looking into Cerakoating some wheels, just to get the exact look I want. Question is, are aluminum wheels in silver color anodized silver? just clear coated? bare? Just trying to decide if all that surface prep will be worth it. Thanks,\. |

It depends on the brand of wheels.

Ok, so do you know which brands sell their silver wheels as bare aluminum?

I can say this they are out there, scarce and limited sizes. These flash wheels are flooding the market. Like chrome & polished alum also. It is a hunt, hope someone can prove me wrong |

| Re: Bare aluminum wheels Some brands off of that top of my head that might be are Gear Head and LockedUp RC. But aluminum oxidizes quickly so usually companies coat it with a clear anodization. I'm sure either company would tell you if you ask them.

Why not just powder coat them?

Locked up definitely offers bare aluminum wheels. Some of them have what they call a cinder finish which is just a process they explain on their website that they use to treat the wheels to remove machine marks. I can definitely understand the want for the cerakote finish. I’ve seen some people do it on rc wheels and it looks Really good. These are a set of locked up wheels I had powder coated red with gold flake and they turned out way better than expected. All the guy asked me to do was hit it with some steel wool to kind of polish them up that way it kept the cost down and more powder coat didn’t have to be added. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

CNC Custom wheels sells bare alloy beadlocks. I happened to get mine ceracoted right from him directly.
