Default 1.9 XL JConcepts Landmines

Along with the Duratrax Deep Woods 2.2 testing underway, I've also kicked off the testing of the JConcepts 1.9 XL Landmines.

Using the Vanquish VS410 Pro as the platfrom with Proline Racing two stage foams. So far I'm super pleased with these tires and foams, and will be adding a few short videos to my IG page as I work on the review.

Of course they crawl up a straight line very well, but the side-hilling performance as been outstanding.

You might want to test these in the wet too, or pour some water on the rocks. These are great tires in the dry but seem to lack grip when wet from my experience.

Understood, but I'm guessing you have not looked at the website.

Mojave Valley RC Adventures' focus is on the performance results in the naturally occurring terrains of this area ( rock, sandstone, gravel, and sand). Not surprisingly, running water is a uncommon element in our area, and you could easily crawl hundreds of square miles of the Mojave desert and never encounter water, so addressing that performance aspect isn't on our radar.

When we do experience water in the desert after a rain storm, it tends to be in the form of a flash flood and raging boulder strewn washes bulldozing their way down the side of the mountains; not a place you want to be, let alone crawl. A few hours later, it's all gone and dry again.

These Landmines may do terrible on wet rocks or running water, but I'll never know it.

Very little running water out here.

Yeah I didn't expect you to run into much if any water. I was just throwing it out there. I dont think its a huge factor I just noticed it was a stark contrast to the Proline G8 compound that seems to almost excel in the wet.

Again, excellent work!

I found my Landmines needed to get some run time on them before they came into their own on my slick granite.

Disappointed at first is an understatement when compared to Pred Hyraxes out of the box or cut Canyon Trails.

Now, they do just fine.

I only run when it’s dry out, so I don’t have any input on wet performance.

Many thanks! Just got back from a week in Boise, and I was able to get for good evenings of crawling with the Wraith / Duratrax Deep Woods to keep the test project moving along. I should be able to wrap that up soon, and then get more time for the Landmine project.

Landmines with the PL dual stage have been a favorite of mine for a couple months now as well. I was running a 4.5” lil nova at first. It’s rare that I like the PL dual stage more than a lil nova but it has been a solid combo for me as well.

After 30 battery packs through the VS 410 Pro with these tires, I think I'm in love.

They just seem to get better each drive. I still have a lot of work to go on the text ( I'm finishing up the Duratrax Deep Woods review first ), but these have been superb in all things dry and rocky.

Spent 4 days in Fruita, Colorado, and the massive hills of granite were like Disneyland for crawling. I found an area about the size of a few football fields, and it would entirely possible to climb this daily for a month and not see the same line. Loved every minute of it.
