I learned the hard way - Soooo first-- I recommend using the "search" function on the site. Its great and will answer many, many questions and save you many, many $$. Under "Tires and Wheels" section there are all kinds of ways to narrow just about any rim out there-- Just type "narrowing rims" in search & poof-Many answers to all your questions. I narrowed some Pro line Cheyennes down to 2" using the drill press and cutter method- Worked great- remember to reinforce with fiberglass or such after cutting.

With my 40 series velocity wheels, I chopped off the inside bead, then chopped out a gap to make the wheel 2 inches wide. I the cut the bead open, put CA on the wheel and bead, and held them together for a couple of mins. They're still going strong.

There's a tutorial here, but this isn't the way I did it.
