I will say this. These tires have by far the best bead of any 2.2 tire out there, moabs and mashers pull off of the rc4wd bead locks, these do not. Very thick and meaty bead. Well done Axial!

I wanted to to use this tires for my next 2.2 clod build I guess I need to make some dez's badlands or jp's jordan's. I expect mine to arrive this week just in time for our next comp, I will try to get some pictures, or videos. Last edited by RATBASTARD808; 05-15-2007 at 03:40 AM. | |

I'm Glad Axial is making some tires and Maybe they will make a taller 2.2 Tire. That would be sweet.

I'm thrilled to death that AXIAL is making products aimed at the crawling community. I will probably buy a set of these to try out just to support them for supporting us. That said... I STILL hope they make an "XL" version of this tire... you know... taller, stickier, and a little narrower. 5.5-5.8" tall would be excellent! |

I only had time to mount one tire last night. I'll finish one side and leave the mashers on the other and take a shot of the rig tonight for you so you a full comparison. Did I mention these beads were beefcake!

Ok Here you go. Wheels are rc4wd super narrows. Masher foams are the stock foam narrowed to the same width of the wheel and cut in the traditional star pattern. Axial foams are cut are narrowed to the same width of the wheel and are NOT cut in a star pattern (not cut at all other than narrowed) Both front wheels have about 200 BBs between the foam the and wheel. The Lizzards are a little narrower when mounted. (and yes the axle c that the masher is on is tweaked). The foams are soft enough I get the same or more squat with them being I do with the pro-line foams in a star pattern. |

Did some tests they do not appear to be as stable as the mashers on side hillss partially because they are a little rounded while the mashers are more square. Plus the foam appears to be a little soft on the side hills. I am adding some of the foam back to the tires and will try them with full foams. I will tell you these bad boys are very soft.

i like the wrap around side lugs, that dont stop on the edge like the moabs. i wonder if there are plans for a "XL" 40 series/super class version.
