Default what's the easiest way to....

...apply shoe goo to the wheels when mounting tires? I did one wheel with shoe goo for the first time and it made a mess when i was pushing the tire onto the bead. It doesn't help that the shoe goo tube doesn't have a applicator cap like super glue and rtv tubes have so it's hard to apply just a little amount exactly where you want it.

I put the tire on the wheel first and then slid the tire bead towards the middle of the wheel while i applied the shoe goo inside the bead of the wheel. When pushing it back over, the sidewall always gets goo all over it.

what are your tricks?

The few times that I used shoe goo to mount my tires, I spread it around the bead with a toothpick. Just put some shoe goo onto your wooden toothpick and spread it around the bead. I think I used a few toothpicks per tire if I remember correctly because after a little while they would snap. I ttakes forever to mount up tires this way, but it gets the job done.

I tried using q-tips (no cotton) but by the time i got all the way around, the glue was starting to get hard.

I won't ever use CA glue to mount tires again. Both times i tried to remove them, they tore up the tires pretty bad. I tried the oven trick and boiling them with no luck so no more CA!!!!
