Default Imex Rubicon 2.2

Seen the new 2.2 Imex Rubicon tires today at my LHS, seemed to be taller than a Moab, but not as as big as the Red Rocks were. Sidewall seemed thicker than the Red Rocks were as well.

They come in a medium and a soft compound, they had the mediums in stock and they felt decent. I couldn't really tell much about the foams as they were still in the package, but they seemed fairly firm.

Perhaps another option for the 2.2s?

Those might excel on sharp rocks.

Looks like a decent dirt tire... They look like theyre gonna do the same thing the redrocks did. The tread lugs are gonna fold over when climbing rather than actually digging in and getting traction.

I do like the amount of sidewall tread that I can see. If the threads don't fold as dieselfuel said they may just work. Tread spacing does look like a bit much for smooth rocks however.

they kinda look like the Mickey Thompson Baja belted tire. pretty cool. looks like they got some good side bite. have you seen the new tires that rc4wd is coming out with? swampers and bfg krawlers. Super awsome

Mmm, judging by the shape of the lugs, I don't think they'll fold over as much as the Red Rocks. The Red Rocks' lugs didn't have much support in terms of area each individual lug covered on the surface of the tire. But these zig-zag shapes spread each lug over a greater area, so they should resist folding over.

look at the lug pattern. could you imagine trying to narrow these? It would be quite an adventure.

guess no one has got to try a pair of these yet. Either that or they are keeping it really quiet!

If it's like any other Imex foam that I've ever owned it makes good packaging material and is useless as tire foam.

With Imex's so so tire reputation and the addition of several proven designs offered by other brands I don't picture these being a big hit.

if the sidewalls are thicker, i think they'll be a great alternative to m2k's for sidewall on hybrid tires. Lots of side bite.....dave should make some seeing as how every other damn cool imex tire seems to be sold out.
