| Gaps with Kreepy inserts ?
I just got a set of Kreepy inserts ( red in front, pink in rear ) for my clod and they seem to have some significant gaps after being installed. I am using a set of Axial bead lock wheels narrowed to 2" with 40 series Moabs. I did not cut or narrow the foams because I want the sidewall to be as stiff as possible. I was previously using Airsoft bbs which provided awesome traction but almost zero sidewall support. When I installed them I double checked to make sure I was not inadvertently creating a gap and drilled a 1/8" breather hole in each wheel. With them installed I can definitely feel where the seam is in the foam and when I squeeze them the tire indents with the suction at the seam. It's basically creating a flat spot in the tires. At first I thought maybe I bought the wrong size foams and they were just too short but as far as I can tell they are the right ones. This is the size I ordered. http://tcscrawlers.com/product.php?p...cat=270&page=1 I'm wondering if not narrowing them is causing them to bunch up too much so the gap is not closing or they are in fact too short? I haven't run them on the rocks yet because I'm waiting on some thermal paste for my replacement 5995. Has anyone else run into this? Thanks. |

| Yeah I almost bought them instead mainly because I was worried about gaps. I may try that later but I think I'll run them first before I tear all those little screws out again. They seem to be somewhat better now that they sat overnight. |

I believe he told me on a small batch of the very first run the cutter cut them a little short. It could be remedied by gluing the ends with some spray adhesive or the like.

That may be the case as it seems to be the reds giving me more of a problem.
