Default To all you 2.2 guys.....

Hey. I know this is rccrawler and i mainly use it for that.. But I am looking for a GOOD all terain tire for my 4x4 1/10 nitro truck (same size as a associated rc10t). Here is the catch. They cant have too much side wall due to the fact im pushing about 3.25HP out of this little thing and the tire grow is uncontrollable. Does anyone have any takeoffs they dont want anymore??? that would work too.. money is an issue.... Thanks guys
David.

You might want to look into the imex claw dawgs. They are only 4 inches tall so they wouldnt have alot of sidewall to them.

Try Proline gladiators in the M2 compound, and to keep tire growth down, wrap the inside of the tire with duct tape.

I have run the gladiators on my losi stadium truck (very pumped electric car) and tire groth is bad... Never thought of wraping them with duct tape though. does that really work?

You could try the jato 2.8" wheels on a regular 2.2" tire. That would take the sidewall down quite a bit. It would be a tight squeeze but tight is good when you have loads of horses. Why don't you try stampede tires. I know they suck but they are firmer and with a bit of trimming around the bead and mounting them on the 2.8 they might work for what you want. The 2.8's use a 1/8 scale mounting bead set up though...where the bead slides in from the side, but you could probably mod them.

The tread pattern on the Geolanders look good. Have you seen them in person? how soft of a tire are they?

The Jato tire wheel idea sounds like it could work if I had more $$ to put into this project... But im on a budget. And I already have a set of rims (once I boil the old tires off) to use.

Alot of guys driving nitro rustler's use the duct tape trick and say its one of the best things to do. But make sure you get the M2 compound, as you will go through the M3 compound tires in no time. As for the geolanders, I hear they are a great tire, but wear out quickly. I'm not too sure though, so you may want to wait to see if anyone with them have suggestions.
