I like those and the Nitto Mud Grapplers

If you want more street style i would prefer the Nitto Terra Grappler

I voted claws, I still love the look of my cut down and reduced imex claws...would save me a lot of time and glue if they were premade this way. Even though this truck got stompers, I am using these on my OG hilux

I would love if RC4WD made a 3.7 Claw or Mud Grapler

We will work on the Claw first, what about width, the same as our current 1.9 tires?

I would really like a reasonably stock looking tire that still has an aggressive tread.
Something like the traditional BFG mt or the military landrover tires would be awesome.
A baja claw with relatively large lugs - similar to the reduced reduced imex's would also be cool.

My favourite would be BFG's with some added sidelugs would be perfect.
Leave the main tread looking like the tamiya bfg's but increase the amount of sidewall.
I drew up this, highlift tires for comparisson on stockcar wheels:

Those would suit almost any reasonably stock scaler

sorry - didnt see last post

RC4WD. a tire identical in height and width to the highlift and slingers is what im after.
a claw style tire with your soft compound, a carcas that flexes well, with a bead that works well, will have killer sales.

Default claw concept

Claw it is then

Had a look at google and found some baja claws, imo the tread is far to fine for rc use... the imex tires seem to capture the style and look pretty good.

here is a quick cad of highlift size tires, apart from this basic design are there any lugs/spacings/patterns that people want changed?

Otherwise this should be pretty close

now tell me whats good, bad & horrible so that rc4wd has something to go on (i hope this aids development instead of complicating it)

personally I think it looks better with the chevrons alternating like on 1BJB's hilux.

frac
sorry if this is a hijack

-now i thought rc4wd already has a baja cad? couldnt find it though...

id like to see the treads and side lugs SLIGHTLY deeper like the typical rc4wd tire. and also id be curious to see what it would look like with the lugs offset, ie like a masher tire.

also do you have it drawn the same size as a highlift? it looks larger in the rendering, could be just the perpective and the extreme angle.

i think it would be cool to have the super swamper thornbirds. that was a classic tire for the 80's 1:1 trucks. that and the mickey thompson baja belteds. i actually like the mud grapplers...im lookin at gettin a set for my moon buggy here this spring!

Yep, the BFG would be a pretty sweet tire to have

Ok, I resized it, offset the lugs (i prefer it that way) and made the lugs taller with better spacing between them - so they should work a bit more like mashers.

I assume people would want these tires to perform to some extent?
Cause the tread needs to be quite open compared to the real baja's doesnt it?

now thats a pretty nice tire imo;)

oooo i really like the deeper treads. but im not sure about the offset lugs.
i think they loose there scale looks. and no longer looks like a claw tire, that looks too much like a comp tire. this size tire is really focused on the scale minded builder. willing to give up a bit of performance for looks.

care to do one last rendering? leave the taller lugs, but match the lugs back up like the claw tire. and also can you make more treads around the tire so that the gap is skinnier than the lug. does that make sence? the origonal pink tire was that way, the treads were slightly wider than the gap. and also the slits in the lugs, on the real claw the slits dont quite go all the way to the carcass like you have drawn, there is a little step up from the carcass at the bottom of the slit, the same width as the tread block.

I think it looks better when the lugs are lined up, it looks more scale
