Default Movement of the axle: can autocad help ?

I'm wondering if autocad can help in simulating the movement of tha axle relative to the chassis.
I'm a newbe so I would start from a 2D model with a side view of the crawler. I would like to simulate how the axle moves changing link lenghts and positions (in 2D a 4 link suspensions become a 2 link and I'm not interested in axle twist at this time). I don't have any idea on how to start. I need to tell autocad that links can rotate at the center of their extremity, cannot do any other movements and that the points of the objects connected to the links must mantain the same distance.
Any suggestions will be very appreciated. Nobody with an example ?

Thanks
Filippo

It's doable in AutoCAD using LISP. Alternatively, you could use 3D Studio Max or Blender to "animate" your drawings from AutoCAD, or even draw them in the programs themselves. SolidWorks is a much better option, the rest are kind of hack jobs.

I'm not sure on this, but you may be able to use Sketchup as well. It's a whole lot cheaper than the pro tools and emulates a lot of the features.

Good luck!

Solidworks all the way is uber easy to do what you want.
i have auto cad and only use it for architectural design.

Solidworks is probably the easiest to do it in. However like it was mentioned before it is doable with others.

This was for the design of my 2008 Comp Rig

Each video was a different link geometry
