| Narrow escape !
For our upcomming gtg next week I decided to have some beadlocks and mudslinger tires, we'll be driving in the wet woods of Holland so that's why I choose the slingers. I ordered a set of 1.9 Pythons & slingers from RC4WD and they did ship those goodies very fast ! Within a week they were mine, thanks again RC4WD ! After assembling the tires to the wheels I discouvered that the wheels didn't fit the CC-01 steering knuckel deu to the kingpins :-( I had to come up with a solution quik, the gtg is in a few days ... Didn't have time to order some different pins so I filed down the original: Now it looks like this, the wheels turn with no problem but you couldn't get a hair between the pinhead and the inside of the wheel: I don't know if this was posted before but I just like to share. The 1,9 Pythons do go with the CC-01, you just have to shave the pinheads |

I ran into the same issue with my Eritex beadlocks. Here's what I did with mine. Since the screws have shoulders on them, they don't really need the head, except for a place to turn in the screw. So to solve the clearance problem, we cut the heads off of the screws and made slots in them so that they could be installed with a flat blade screwdriver. Here's what they look like when installed. Now there is plenty of clearance. Last edited by kwkride; 02-24-2010 at 10:48 AM. |
