Default Online Tubing

Building a Scale FJ40 Tube-on-Frame TLT (i.e. The frame will resemble a stock truck frame with tubing for exo, bumpers, shock hoops/mounts, axle trusses)

The square/rectangle tube for the frame, I can source at Home Depot, no issues there.

The tubing for the rest of the materials I need to order online since I am having trouble sourcing locally, and my work hours don't make it easy to get to a store during the week.

Looking at the following tube from Mcmaster:

Metric Carbon Steel Seamless Tubing
OD: 6mm = .236" (between 3/16" and 1/4")
ID: 4mm = .157"
Wall: 1mm = .039"

$12.95 for 6 ft

I don't see any issues here, correct?

Seems to be the most economical solution.

Material will be mig-welded or brazed.

Any reason you dont want to use brakeline tubing. It is what is most commonly used. Cheap and available. It can be mig'd relatively easily.

Cant wait to see it.

Trying something different. I heard issues with burn through with the mig with brake line. Seems this tube might work a little easier. It is a little thicker. I think typical brake line is .035" thick.

I'm not doing a build thread, but will document and post it all at the end.

I got some ideas brewing. It's nice to be back into this hobby. I have a large chest filled with nothing but losi/kyosho/associated parts.

I should buy stock in Tower Hobbies with the amount of crap I've ordered.

This tubing is cheaper and has a thicker wall.

Diameter is too thick. I'm trying to stick with 3/16", 1/8" solid rod, and the 6mm metric.

The 6mm metric will be for main supports, 3/16" for support, and 1/8" solid rod for the decorative crap.
