Default thread????

OK does anyone know what is the common(standard) 3mm thread pitch? I bought a 3mm x .50 pitch tap & 3mm x .60 tap and neither really seem to be right. I've tried screwing a nut onto both taps and neither go on easily. Is there a 3rd pitcj in 3mm? RC Alloys I bet you know.

Yup, I made the mistake of buying one of those metric tap kits from Wally World (hobby shop was closed)

Stupid 3mm tap was .6 pitch.

I went to the LHS and bought the correct 3mm .5 pitch tap.

I use 3mm and .5 pitch works with that. I think .6 has to do with 3.5mm hardware.

here's a quick link I found showing the diff sizes http://www.efunda.com/DesignStandard...ewm_coarse.cfm
