|  Aluminum bars and strips
So I need to make up a couple of brackets and trying to source some aluminum strips. What I'm wondering is, what would be the thinnest I should get for mounting a body to? I'm planning on shoegooing some magnets to the body and to the aluminum for mounting. Anyone got a source for those little magnets? |

Woodcraft has a good selection of rare earth magnets. At least they did when I got mine there quite some time ago. Arizona Ave and Elliot( I believe). I would think Ace would have some also. 0.063" should be thick enough, might even get away with 0.040. I used some thicker stuff in the past and it was overkill for mine.

For mounting brackets I think 16 Gauge (0.0508 " thick) aluminum will be right. A little thinner and I feel it will break by fatigue and weight. Are the brackets going to be right angled in shape? |
