Default Digital Dials for Lathes & Mills

For you guys with the non-CNC outfitted small lathes & mills that you can purchase from Harbor Freight.

MicroMark Item # 83039
Price: $ 122.35

I attached a picture of one that was fitted to a Taig mill.

They need 20 tpi lead-screws in order to work and the Taig has these as standard.
Not a hard job to fit, three spacers, three tapped holes and it got shoehorned on.
Swoops between inches and millimeters and best of all, you don't need to count turns.
I know someone is going to mention backlash and “No”, it doesn't remove it and neither does the original old dials.

It's not a true DRO, it's a digital dial. But then again, it's only the price of a “good” digital caliper.
