at your LHS-you already knew that online hobby shops-tower, etc etc you can find bondhus drivers at local hardware shops, sometimes I just picked up a Dynamite set today-came with 1.5mm, 2.0mm, and 2.5mm all the sizes I use and none that I don't for $20. check MIP, they make some nice ones, but the tips aren't replaceable. |

I have been using Axial's hex drivers for over a year. They are really nice and the only ones that make a ball tipped 2.0mm driver |

| i have the proline set with 1.5, 2.0, 2.0b, 2.5, 2.5b. the 1.5 is junk. i've trimmed off the end twice now and it's on its last legs. i guess the alloy they use just isn't strong enough for a tip that small. i hear mrp's are "the best."

I use the integy hex drivers, the only thing besides motors that I will buy made by integy. Have never had to grind the tip down ever and the ends look new still after a year.

I bought blanks from mcmaster and I think I paid less than $5 for 5 or more sizes. Took a piece of round stock cut that to a 1.5-2" length drilled a hole through the side and brazed it together now I have a t-handle driver and have not worn one out yet. I did have some bondhus drivers once but they wore out afer a while, that's when I had the t-handle idea Here's the page: http://www.mcmaster.com/#allen-key-wrenches/=2yvfn6 look for the 2807 link and go down to blades. They have all sorts of sizes from 1.27mm to 14mm blades Last edited by Gula; 07-30-2009 at 04:47 AM. |

I also use the Integy drivers and they work quite well. I't fairly common that I have to pull the driver to get it out of the head of the screw...

I've been using these for about 9 months and havent had to grind or replace a tip yet. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=DYN2904 If they were about a half inch longer though Id say they were perfect |

I've become a bit of an RC tool junkie lately...I've had the Duratrax Ultimate Wrenches for about 2 1/2 years (with ball drivers and the reamer insted of the flatheads) Associated Factory Team hex and nut drivers, and Integy Quick Pit drivers and they are all of high quality. I've been using the Associated set more lately simply because of the longer handles and bits, and they're pretty comfortable. That said, the Integy kit actualy has the best bit to hex fit out of all of them...amazed me given their rep for some low quality components. I'm with Creepy, the Associated tools are comfortable and long. The integy's are very precise, which amazed me after buying some of their other crap. I've owned the Associated tool set for over 4 years now(All hex/ball/nut drivers), and they are still going strong, but the integy's seem to fit the heads a "little" more precise. My 5/64 tip is finally wearing out, but it pulls double duty with 2mm as well. |

I have to agree the integy ti coated tips are the best Ive used, though on the short side, I have tried just about them all, hudy,ae,dtx, rds, and gotta say the integy have the tightest fit, really important on ss hardware.

For any newbies out there, I'd highly recommend getting at least a DECENT quality set of 1.5, 2.0, & 2.5 mm drivers - mine were about $6.50 each at the hobby store but they are worth every penny - it is so much easier to work on my crawlers - a world of positive difference. I'd stay away from *cheap* drivers - you often get what you pay for. Bite the bullet, don't scrimp on tools.
