Default Brazing Torch Question

I've been reading alot about brazing on here and elsewhere and am getting ready to take the plunge and start doing my own brazing (or attempting to anyway).

Saw this torch online today and based on my reading it looks like a nice option, is there anything I'm missing though?

Thanks in advance,

Nate

MAPP gas burns hotter than propane and this is a great torch for heating stuff up and soldering but it will not be hot enough for brazing.

The BernzOmatic BZ8250HT Trigger-Start Hose Torch is a great torch for brazing. Use it w/the Fat Boy fuel cylinder.
They have them at Home Depot, Lowes etc. maybe even Wallmart.

Get yourself some Silver Solder & your good to go

Yes it will. I have a pile of scrap on my bench from using just mapp and the torch that screws directly into the can. Hell Double J posted a video of doing it. What you won't be able to do is pinpoint the heat well if you have tight spots to weld. But you CAN braze with it.

I use a TS 4000 from Bernzomatic with Mapp and have never had problems Brazing with it.

Mapp gas is made from combining liquefied petroleum and Methylacetylene-Propadine. It can be used for heating, brazing, metalizing, soldering, flame hardening and cutting. Mapp gas produces a flame temperature of 5301° F (2927° C) and 2405 Btus.

Brazing filler material will begin to soften and become 'Liquid' at around 1100 F (593c)
