Default hex driver kits?

yes i did search but after realding tones of threads that contained " hex" "driver" and "kit" and not finding what i want i thought i would just post, even tho i know its been discussed befor

Simple - who makes a good hex driver kit" starting at 1mm and up? upuntill now iv been useing the drivers that i use on my 1:1 crawler. while they work just fine they arnt exactly the easiest or most comfortable things to use when doing up beadlocks etc. the LHS only seems to sell drivers that even feel like they would just round over on one stubborn screw.

so who makes an good / affordable kit?

the traxxas startup set from dynamite is definatly a good addition to your "go bag," you can even fit the entire kit in your back pocket

has all the sockets you'll need, and the hex's that are included come in both standard and metric. probabbly the best bang for the buck kit in r/c tools w/ a price tag under $20

as for your main tools for your work bench it would be best to get ones that have replacable shafts. i peronally use the dynamite machined drivers

id highly suggest buying per piece, to be honest i only use 1.5mm 2.0mm and 2.5mm when it comes to all of my rc surface vehicles

they're a little on the short side compared to the losi or axial drivers but i prefer short hand tools, to give me a better feel of what im working on. shorter also gets you less breaks

I'm not sure about "every tool under the sun for r/c", but EDS Racing Products are expensive but worth every penny.

This is the dynamite set I bought both sets metric and US and am extremely happy with both. They even have a cap on the back that pops off and you can store extra screws or replacement hex attachments.

I have used them like crazy and have yet to round one off or snap one.

They are 40 bucks a set though. Going from hex keys to these it was worth every penny for me.

I have had good luck with my Team Associated hex drivers. Have had only one to break, it was my fault.

I have a variety of RC tools, Hudy, Losi, Dynamite, etc., but my favorites -- by a long shot -- are my Bullit R/C Performance tools. Their shafts are adjustable with the push of a button on the handle and will retract down to about a half inch and extend to about 5 inches. If you need short for torque, you've got it. If you need long for reach, you've got that too. Been using them for about three years and they barely look worn at all. Too bad the company is no longer in business.

I can't say I've ever used a 1MM hex on any of my RCs though. I think a 1.5MM is as small as I've ever needed. Assemble a tool kit as you need it and you'll wind up with one tailored to your needs.

ya i ended up with just a cheapo set from my LHS, it wnt from 1.5 - 3 mm, which is really all i need, just the screws on my DMG body panels are tiny, like 1 or .5 mm i forget, but i have a seperate tool for that. im still gonna read up on the sets i can find. to be honest i really dont work on my RCs that much, once they are set up how i like them i leave them. so i dont need super fancy top o the line stuff

I've got that set too. It's a decent hex kit but you might want to keep an eye out for a 2.0mm wrench to go with it.

the 5/64th's is so close to 2mm that they call it the same. i use the same set and my vanquish wheels are the only 2mm screw it doesn't fit good (too tight)

I picked up a set of the Dynomite hex drivers on saturday they work great, the end at your palm spins and they are very high quality. The drivers my local Snap-on or matco guys sell are not even close these.

I've only found a few 2mm's that it wouldn't fit too, but those few were enough for me to get the extra wrench. Others may never find a need for it though.
