At the lake. Go where ever they have boat docks, find out who takes care of them. When the dock foam gets broken or waterlog they have to replace it. They have a hard time taking it to a landfill cause they don't really want it , so the boat dock guy will stack it up some place and when you ask him if you can have it you will become his hero and he will try to give it all to you. some of it is inside black plastic boxes, nothing a sawsall won't take care of.

So go to the lake.

I dont live near a lake and the local harbor master said no scavaging! So i went to the local hardware store they have foam in a can. Its insulation foam that is in an erasol form, like spary paint almost. its cool because you can spray any shape. its a little pricey but a little at a time and you will have a course in no time.

try looking for boat dock companys in the area, they may have some old stuff around that they are usally eger to get rid of.

spray foam can get real spendy and I found that is does not get hard enough for any kind of wheel speed ( shreds easy).

the hard foam board type or bead type with stucco/grout mix on top works great, and you can brush on texture while it's still wet.

perfect advice! i was looking into fake rocks and just found expensive options. time to head to the marina and see if they have anything that might work. much easier than bringing a huge pile of rocks into my lower level.

that video is a great way to get an idea as to how to shape it. i like the idea of using dryvit or stucco crete cause it is premixed and can come in buckets, thus getting it down the stairs will be easier.
