| Hobart Flux Coated Brazing Rod & MAPP Torch???? Has anyone tried brazing brake line or solid rod with a MAPP Gas torch using Hobart Flux Coated Brazing Rod, 3/32 in. X 18 in.???? I know all about the silver solder and flux, just curious if this will work? It is much easier to get in my local area. Thanks for any insight. |

The brazing rod will work, but it doesn't flow as well as silver solder and melts at a higher temp. Brazing rod is cheaper & easier to get, but harder to work with. I started off with brazing rods because I couldn't find silver solder. Then I tried silv and never went back to the brass rods. | |
