what are my options to removing powder coat from aluminum chassis plates?

Ya have 2 choices that are easy. Air craft stripper (messy) of burn it off with a torch then sand blast it . I deal with a powder coater every day. and this is how they strip screwed up parts. I dont even bother painting stuff any more, I just have it coated.

I also deal with powder almost every day, air craft remover is my cleaner of choice for bad coatings.

Spray on Gunk Gasket remover. It will literally blow the PC off. |

Do not use heat. Heat will anneal the aluminum making it really soft. Unless you can figure out how to temper it at home. |

| I know to much heat is bad for any metal, I work in the metal fab industry! and blasting it isnt an option at this point as mine is to big:?

I use to blast well drilling trucks and L.P. tanks that where all PC. We used a rather large blaster. I found that if you run the blaster over a larger area and heat the metal the PC would blow right off. But im Clayton78, Aircraft stipper works very nice also. Some times you might have to redo some spots that don't want to come off. Dont get it on your hands |
