Default Delrin link questions

I was looking to make my own delrin links, i was going to use some 1/4" delrin tube that has 1/8" inside diameter (same size as the aluminum links i have). And i was just going to use set screws in the rod ends, will this hold up? Or will it be "weak" because its hollow? Not really fimilair with delrin links, so sorry if this is a dumb question...

1/4 inch will have a LOT of flex, and the longer you make the links the worse the flex will be. I use 5/16 on my Losi. Thet are only 83mm and work great at that length.

You can use delrin tube if you use allthread all the way through. It'll make it strong enough to live happily.

I use 1/4" for my 1.9 links. 5/16" rod for my 2.2. I have 3/8 also when I need longer links. I get the rod from McMaster Carr. Its solid delrin rod. I drill the 5/16 with 4 mm and the 1/4 with 3 mm. Never have had any issues.

I've used the 1/4" tube for steering links, upper links, and chassis spreaders. I use 5/16" rod for lower links, it's as small as I'd want to go for those.

McMaster is where I got the 5/16" rod.

Yep, used the stock Axial link set screws. AXA186 Then used Traxxas 5469 rod ends with Axial AXA1331 flanged balls to complete the link.

I used JeepinDoug's drill guides to drill the holes, check out the tool vendor's section. They work well, not too expensive.
