I have to side with you, to guys in our business (auto, truck or what ever technicians) it is normal to spend that kind of money on tools because it will pay for itself in the future by providing a means to do the job and allowing you to do it in less time. For guys that are not in this line of business that seems absurd. I think what was meant is that for any body out there that might be in the market for a high quality tool, then this one works great. If you are spend your extra cash on this hobby, then lower buck methods are the way to go. Just my two pennies.
Steve

PS
This is my version of "normal". And these are just the tools at the shop.

Are the two tall cabinets in the tool chest to hold the little magic fix it elves "poof" it's fixed. I have a tool addiction as well . When I was a kid I thought every dad had a Blackhawk air over hydraulic frame straighter in the garage as well as huge air compressor and Devilbiss spray guns.
Ever see a full grown man flaming mad because you were building a fort with his good body hammers. Yikes. I got my first tool box and Craftsman tools in 5th grade and been adding ever since.

Keep one in each side. I have put the cabinets on the far right and both sets of drawers in the middle since that photo so they can't talk to each other as well any more.

I almost fell over and hit the front of my box when I read that.
Ironically the laptop on that tool box is where most of these posts come from. Standing here right now.

Ya he was pretty mad. But I now know where he's coming from. You should have seen his face it was cherry red.

Looks like a nice bender, but I noticed that the country of origin is China ...I thought Snap On tools were made in the USA?

Here's my bender. Mostly built from parts from Ace hardware for $6.

I used the $59 I saved to buy all the tubing for this....

Not to threadjack but Warpig, are you using 1/4" steel tube for your frame rails? I just cant believe you did all that tube work with that homemade bender. Simply awesome man! I got my trusty little tube bender for $5 from harbor frieght. I just made more notch marks between the ones that were already there so now i have more reference points when doing intricate bends other than 45 and 90deg. Works great. Now i just need to find a bender that bends 1/4" flat steel bar.
