Default Quick size question for threaded rod tubing.

What size ID do I need to cover 6/32 thread rod. Now what about 8/32" thread rod?

I've seen 1/4" mentioned, but is that ID? And is that for 6/32" or 8/32'?

Thank you

Alright, I have some 3/16" brake line with flared ends. The 6/32" doesn't fit. Is that due to the flarred end. Only reason I haven't cut it off yet is then I can't return it if that's not the reason.

Thanks.

Brakeline is measured in outer diameter. "3/16in" brakeline is 3/16in O.D., ~1/8in I.D.. It can be tapped for 6-32 (loose fit), but will not sleeve it.

You need 1/4in brakeline (3/16in I.D.) to sleeve the 6-32 rod. It is a bit of a loose fit, but the rod ends will hold it in place just fine.

Thank you. The guy at Autozone said the 3/16 was ID, guess he was wrong. I'll exchange it for some 1/4" tomorrow.

So what size do I need for 8/32", is there a 5/16" OD brake line?

1/4" brake line should work for 8-32

Just take pieces of your rod with you to test it before you buy it.

Does the flared end of the tubing make the end smaller?
