Default Brazing,Micro-torch or Normal size torch?

Well pretty much the title of this thread explains most of it, i've been lookin into getting myself an oxy/acetylene torch kit because i wanna get serious about brazing and makin chassis's ,suspensions, etc. I tried the mapp gas route as others have suggested but its jus not cutting it, not economical and just doest come out as clean. Im takin some weldin classes but a tig at home is waaAAAaY outta my price range, so should i get a "Micro oxy/acetylene torch kit" or can i do it with the standerd size torch kit. i'd like to get the standerd size one so that its versitle for bigger projects if need be, but im not sure if its just to big or outta the question for doin 1/10 scale size tube work ya know? What are you guys mainly usin out there? Thanks, any insights appreciated as times are a lil' rough and i wanna do my homework and weigh my pros and cons before breakin the bank!! Thanks fellas !

I'm just wondering, what problems are you having with MAPP gas? I've been using it with no problems at all and the joints are coming out pretty clean, especially after I got used to it. A decent Oxy/acetylene setup is going to cost quite a bit initially, but you are right, if you get nice sized tanks refills will be few and far between.

I'd just get a standard size torch. Thats what I've been using for 2 years, and with a 0 or 00 size brazing tip you can do very intricate work.....plus you can use a rose bud or cutting tip on it later. Look for a complete used torch set up on Craigslist, I see them around here for under $250 complete with bottles all the time.

the jewelry torches i used in high school and college would be perfect for tubers.
