I just use my bench vise. Works great for mine, and it is made from 3/16" solid rod.

Heat it up and you can get a nice tight bend:

This tie rod is 1/4-inch stainless.

These were a fun exercise but with 13 different machined parts per bender with some of those having 3 machine steps, the price would have to triple to make it worth doing again

10mm should be plenty..

You put the bender in the vise and get after it ?

Have any pics of tight radius bends with the K&S bender ?

Yeah that is 1/8"... It bends 5/32 & 3/16 just as easy. never had the need to bend 1/4"

Gotta be careful about heating Aluminum til its red hot. It will seriously weaken it. Of course it depends where you are going to put it. As a tyie rod, it'll be fine. Structurally it could fail.

Harbor freight sells a bender. Sells for $5 and bends 3/16 to 1/4. Dunno how tight. I haven't used it yet, its just gathering dust on my bench.

A bunch of guys posted photos of their "homemade" set up, and they are spot on. Any machine shop or fab shop would do the same thing. I just wouldn't use heat on anything but stainless.
