Titanium is very reactive and will instantly contaminate with various atmospheric gases. It must be welded under vacuum or in a enclosed area with an inert shielding gas. "ti tubers" aren't worth the hassle, let alone the cost. I could build you a Titanium Tuber, We work with Ti at my work all the time. I have welded it countless times, but it's not going to be cheap.. Last edited by F1GHTF1R3W1THF1Re.; 12-24-2010 at 08:25 AM.

Just for shits and giggles how much ? Your probably right, its probably not worth it, but i'd be interested to know. I'm sure there are a few guys that would drop some $$$ on one. |

It would be interesting none the less.. I got bored once and covered my TCS Gopher with Ti panels, couldn't generate the speed to make it spark though.. |

Good Tech! I was talking with my Dad about this who was a boiler maker for a little over 20 years and he mentioned that they would weld it by shooting gas at it to displace the oxygen through the beginning of the weld and until it had cooled substantially. Not sure if that's 100% accurate ... but still cool to think about.
