Default screw extractor bit ?

Anyone know if a screw exstractor bit would be hard enough to exstract the tip of a Irwin tap. Broke the tip off of a tap inside a bent link I have spent alot of time on.

i work in a machine shop,, you will need a small carbide drill, but they are kinda pricey,, run it a fast rpm and it will cut it fine,, what size tap?

You could try using a tap extractor. I've had hit and miss results with them though.

I will assume about a 3mm tap about 1/2" down?? Sorta a sucky situation. Carbide bit would be my first choice, EDM is second, do a new link is third (or maybe 2nd??)
